My new website

My new website is live, and you can see it at www.robertbenson.com. The site was designed by Rob Haggart at aphotofolio.com. Before buying his template site, I looked at 20 or more other companies, and decided his was the best. I liked the clean design and big photos. Haggart, a former photo editor at Outside Magazine and Mens Journal, says that’s what he and his photo editor colleagues really like too: big photos, no fuss, clean design. Those other companies I looked at was also written into a review, which you can see here.

This is a screen capture. The viewer has the option to click on “full screen” and huge images take over the screen. It’s just stunning.

Sold…been looking at these while messing with templates and code and things I don’t know and basically wasting time. I must’ve started watching your blog sometime after 9/24 when you posted that review of 20 or so template sites but nice work on that too.

    Thanks!

    Andy

P.S. Does Rob have a referral program?

Perhaps it is my connection, but I couldn’t get your site to load without hitting refresh a couple of times?

Otherwise it looks good, they have dealt with my big concern when I looked at their demo products which was the resizing of images for people with different resolutions. Just need to work on the whole external blog thing and the oversize +/- symbols and I’m sold…

Hopefully it will bring in a bunch of new clients for you.

Hello, the design seems to be ok but the portfolio system flash dont! the first image load then the second appear (hairy boy) then it goes back to the first again, then second, the first picture of a lady load and appear, then it goes back to the first picture and so on. Verdict : The flash loading system too low is not independent of the entire downloading of the album. It causes to go back to the begining if the call for the next picture cannot be done. Flash component is not well done.
Hope it will help you to get a best one.

Nice clean design with great photos but sadly a bit slow to load for me over a 2Mb/s ADSL connection. Thought it wasn’t going to load up at all initially.

I like the new site. The best thing is that I have the option to resize my browser window, instead of doing it automatically. That’s one of the main things that bugs me about NeonSky and a lot of others.

I with the thumbnails would work a little better though. They don’t go away on their own so well if you go back down to the next button, so they cover half your image/images.

On your review it is a bit unclear. Is it $17/month or year?

Re: The slow load time on the site for some people.

I think we’ve got a fix for this that will roll out in about 2 weeks. The initial load time is caused by all the fonts we are loading for each site. I wanted to give people as many font choices as I could but this bloats the file that everyone has to load when you visit one or our sites. We’re building a font library that will allow you to only load the 3 fonts you are using and this will cut the file size to about 1/3 of what it is now.
